Here Canada sits in the Winter of our discontent. Our Government lays frozen and inactive, broken by a hack Prime Minister.

Our Politics have been rationalised and fractured for political gain while our sinking Economy floats rudderless on the heaving sea of a Global Economic Storm.

Our citizens continue to die in a botched war effort, 8 years and counting, in a land far away.  A War that is going to get worse before it get better. Way worse.

The feel good segment “Cool to be Kind” on CBC has been trying its hardest to brighten the days of its viewers, a bit of candy floss amongst the endless stories of political, economic and global instability.  Yet I find these the most disheartening.

Take for instance the story of the kindly stock brokers who give up a days earning to fund programs at an inner-city school. They fund breakfast programs, after-school activities and other such things as these kindly gentlemen go about “looking at the day of these children and find ways to fill in the gaps.”

HOWEVER, the egg only got larger and larger, and more and more human: when she had come within a few yards of it, she saw that it had eyes and a nose and mouth; and, when she had come close to it, she saw clearly that it was HUMPTY HARPER himself. `It can’t be anybody else!’ she said to herself. `I’m as certain of it, as if his name were written all over his face!’

Anyone else think the rhetoric needs to be turned down by the government. If not go take a look at freedominion.ca. Lots of forum talk from “patriots” wanting to arm themselves with guns and bats to give the coalition supporters “a Canadian beating”.

 

Good to know we’re civilized about it. With the front page of The Province saying that 3/4s of Canadians are afraid of the future of the country it’s due time you turned the rhetoric down Mr Harper and pulled the leases of your most partisan of supporters.

Ever wonder what life under a dictator is like? Well take a look at these pictures from the land of Turkmenbashi; the crazed late dictator of Turkmenistan who died in 2005.

Turkmenbashi treated his country like it was an amusement park and created a cult of personality that was, well… insane.

Stephen Harper tried to destabilize the government to save his ass and is busy creating a cult of personality that would probably be well… insane.
