What me worry?

Globe and Mail Vanoc Story
Okay well this is a bit worrying. The two major sponsors of the Vancouver 2010 games are, GM and Nortel. It seems that both GM and Nortel are having a hard time making their ends meet though they both say they will honour their agreements. Is it just me or does anyone else have very little faith in this.

My worry is this. We’re going to have to dip into our own pockets deep to fulfill the commitments to fix this mess. As we seem to be in an era of privatized profits and socialized losses its the residents of Vancouver that will foot the bill whilst the developers keep the profits.

So we’re looking at a situation that might actually make Montreal look like it was done by financial geniuses. So take a long look at that skyline Vancouver, those old towers are going to be around for years while we pay off our folly with our future.

Would you trust this guy?

Not disclosing election expenses, hidden backers and a $100million secret loan to boot! I know who I’m not voting for this weekend.

Who knew not voting NPA could be so easy? I hope these guys stay out long enough for us to pay off the Sullivan years.

A brand new look

Hi all,

We’ve been a bit quiet here at Meancouver as our dayjobs have kept us all busy. Well that has changed with a brand new theme. So expect more articles about Vancouver from a grouchy East Van perspective.
