Don’t Tase Me Bro! from an 83 year old
Who thought that it would be an 83 year old heart patient that would be the latest victim of our cowardly cops. Yes he had a knife, a pocket knife, but apparently our cops no longer even bother to try and talk people down, like the unfortunate Robert Dziekanski who RCMP killed by continually zapping and then piling on.
This time it was an 83 year old man was laying in bed and delusional yet they didn’t want to spend the time to deal with him, saying they had more important things to do. So they zapped him three fucking times. Unacceptable. Tasers are dangerous weapons and cops are treating them like they are some sort of toy. These things should be regulated exactly the same as fire arms, so that even drawing the weapon results in a shit load of paper work. This makes it so that if you need to consider whether its worth the time at a desk, you probably shouldn’t be using it.
The main thing is that we need better training for our cops and to start hiring people that have actual social skills. Nowadays our cops walk around like bloody tanks, even the guy talking to the CBC had his bullet proof vest on. What does this say to people? Are police officers really suppose to be heavily armed soldiers? I always thought they were supposed to be part of the community, talking to people, dealing with situations so that they didn’t escalate. What happened to using words and judgment and sometimes just listening to people in order to calm crisis situations? Apparently our cops don’t have the time or inclination to protect citizens (or international guests) who are in crisis.
Just zap ‘em. Problem solved.
