The Olympian paid volunteer
So apparently the city and provence will pay its employees to “volunteer” for the Olympics. Not only this, it will reimburse private companies to pay its employees to “volunteer.” So now the tax payer has to pay even more to have the Olympics.
It is a pretty sweet plum for these new style volunteers who would seem to have these now paid positions locked down as it doesn’t sound like those outside a certain loop will get a crack at these jobs. Also, as much as our labour shortage is touted there are still many people who could use a job that would pay as well as a civil servant job, especially for the many starving artists who now struggle to survive in such an increasingly expensive city and a nation that gives little support to those who are not of the commercial sellout sort. There are also the educated poor, people with massive student loans stuck in dead end jobs because the economy can’t deliver work for people not in the specific boom sectors.
Apparently to get a paying job you have to have a paying job.
